In 1972, ADCO affiliate Lee National Corp. bought 21% of Kansas City Southern Railroad.
In 1974, ADCO sold this interest back to KCSR in a favorable transaction for substantial
cash, assets, and 1,200 acres of land in Kansas City, MO. ADCO then developed
Executive Park, a massive, multi-use, campus style industrial park, conveniently
located close to the Kansas City Central Business District, Kansas City International
Airport, and the Truman Sports Complex. Executive Park is the hub of a broad range
of business/commercial enterprises including offices, marts and showrooms, research
and development companies, and state-of-the-art warehouses all within an attractive,
carefully controlled environment.
